Our Clients

At Tutors on Wheels, we pride ourselves on being able to provide the finest of educational services to an array of different families and organizations:

  • Local Families: 13 years ago, Tutors on Wheels was formed with the intent to provide effective tutoring to academically struggling students in the Queens area. Fast forward to the present, and despite the growth of the company to all five boroughs of NYC, that initial motive is still very much present. We advertise in local newspapers and family/parenting magazines. We have developed a reputation throughout the Forest Hills/Rego Park/Kew Gardens/Elmhurst/Ozone Park/Corona/Richmond Hill/Maspeth area as being the one educational agency that provides a personal touch and approach to tutoring. Check our testimonials for further inquiry about relationships with the families of Queens. Serving local families and their academically struggling children has always been and will continue to be of the upmost importance to us at Tutors on Wheels.
  • Private/Religious/Charter Schools: Tutors on Wheels works with the NYC Department of Education to provide effective SETSS (Special Education Teacher Support Services) to students with learning disabilities who attend non-public schools. As state law mandates, SETSS services are entitled to all students with learning disabilities regardless of where it is they may attend school. We interview experienced teachers who are licensed in special education grades B-2, K-6, and 7-12 and then send them to schools in need of a special education teacher. In total, Tutors on Wheels services approximately 200+ SETSS students annually. This SETSS initiative gives us the opportunity to service a population in need while also allowing us to grow in our larger community role as an educational organization.
  • Public Schools: We are consistently contacted by public schools from the Department of Education to provide afterschool and Saturday tutoring programs to help struggling students. We have offered afterschool and Saturday programs in the Department of Education for an array of different subjects and examinations including: 3rd-8th grade Common Core test preparation in ELA and Math, SAT test preparation, Regents test preparation, and remedial reading, writing, and math classes. Upon going into these schools to service struggling students, we first research and study the demographics of the cases at hand so that we are adequately prepared to provide the most effective services possible. In order for our programs to flourish, we first ensure that the school itself and the parents of the students are engaged in the day to day operations of the program. Working in public schools has allowed our educators to gain further valuable experience in how to approach teaching struggling students.
  • Organizations: Tutors on Wheels has also had the opportunity to work alongside several community organizations such as the YMCA. In collaboration with the YMCA and other similar afterschool programs, it is our objective to help students obtain the reinforcement and help necessary in order to perform well in struggling subjects. Depending on the program offered, our teachers can provide students with homework help and additional practice in order to master subject material they may be confused about or can work to prepare students adequately for upcoming standardized testing. Not only do our teachers provide the necessary academic help to students, but they also help to model the behavior and habits of responsible adults.

If you have a group of students in need of tutoring, we would be elated to help them obtain the skills and knowledge necessary in order to succeed.
